Who ever said you could not experience Motorsport feeling in a car without jeopardising space and luggage capacity? People said, every sports car is impractical and not usable for day to day usage. When Mercedes-Benz launched the E63 AMG back in 2006 at the New York International Motorshow, they were facing these challenges. With the E63 AMG Estate and along side the counterpart Saloon version, AMG introduced their Masterpiece of an Engine, the M156 naturally aspirated 6.2 litre V8. This high revving performance engine found many fans through the years and all the models it was planted into.
“Comfort, style and pace” can be simply used to describe this version of car. Air suspension, massaging heated and climatized seats, 1950 litre loading / boot capacity and 507 bhp (514 hp) were unknown to the driving world. An acceleration of 0-62 mph in 4.5 seconds in 2006 was just shy of the 4.0 seconds of the 997 Turbo or a Lamborghini Gallardo (3.9 seconds). However these named sport-cars did not bring the other functionalities to the table as the E63 AMG.
Rarity of this model speaks for itself. Mercedes-Benz built 1,500,000 W211 E Class vehicles, 230,000 were estate versions, according to statistics the UK only ever had 182 new cars registered between 2006 to 2009 with less than 40 to be in the estate form.
This cherished 89000 mile version, comes in the rare Designo Platinum Black paintwork, a huge factory option list (missing only two, heated rear bench and rear seat entertainment), BRABUS upgrades and massive service in 2020.
