This Jaguar model established itself as an icon of the motoring world, inspiring countless future sports car examples to come.
The early Jaguar E-Type Series 1 3.8 were produced from March 1961 to October 1964 with a total of 7,669 cars made. A large number were left-hand drive due to their huge popularity across the globe, as it offered a combination of beauty, sports performance, and what was at the time very competitive pricing. Originally built in 1962, this outstanding example was exported to Jaguar Cars, New York as most LHD E-Types did, and then returned to the UK in 1985. The bespoke Eagle restoration of this E-Type was commissioned in 2013 and completed after 4,000 painstaking hours in 2016.
Built at the factory, it undertook a full Eagle Sport specification and incorporating many of the owner’s personal touches, this E-Type has been engineered to be both highly capable in the Spanish hills and as civilised & comfortable as possible in London traffic; perfect given that its home was to be in between the two in Pacific Palisades. The original 3.8-litre engine has been fully rebuilt & enhanced, mated to our bespoke 5-speed gearbox and is now kept cool by the ultimate aluminium radiator package.
Ohlins dampers and revised suspension geometry keep the wider tyres in better touch with the tarmac while retaining Jaguar’s legendary ride comfort and the inimitable spirit of an E-Type. Finished in Opalescent Gunmetal, this E-Type looks incredible from all angles.
The paintwork is showing in perfect condition, with the chrome wire wheels with stainless steel spokes presently beautifully, having no marks or fading. The Exclusive Grey Leather with red stitching interior has been extremely well looked after and we go to great lengths to ensure it has stayed in pristine condition, along with keeping the car in dry storage.
The E-type is accompanied by a detailed history file, fully maintained and serviced by Eagle every year, full matching numbers and is an original running example worthy of any enthusiast’s collection.
